Data and reuse
The watermarking tracker is published as machine-readable data under a CC BY 4.0 licence. Use it in articles, dashboards, research or products; attribution to aiwatermarking.org is the only condition.
Files
- watermarks.json — the full dataset, including per-row source keys, status definitions, and notes on what is unverified.
- watermarks.csv — the same rows flattened, for spreadsheets.
- sources.json — every source cited on this site, with publisher, date, whether it is primary, and the specific claims we drew from it.
How to read the status field
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| live | Confirmed shipping by the provider itself. |
| partial | Shipping for some models, surfaces or regions only. |
| announced | Committed to publicly, not yet confirmed shipping. |
| none | No marking of this modality that we can find. |
| unverified | Reported by third parties, no primary source located. Shown so the gap is visible rather than silently omitted. |
Why the unverified rows are in there
A tracker that only listed what we could confirm would imply Meta and Microsoft do nothing, which is not something we know. Listing them as unverified says what is actually true: they were named in reporting[5] and we have not found a primary source. If you have one, send it.
